Mp3tag เป็นโปรแกรมแก้ไขหรือใส่รายละเอียต่างๆของไฟล์ MP3 ไม่ว่าจะเป็นชื่อศิลปิน อัลบั้ม ปี ประเภท รูปภาพ และอื่นๆ ที่จะทำให้ไฟล์มีมาตราฐานสากลซึ่งสามารถใช้กับโปรแกรมต่างๆที่เกี่ยวกับด้าน MP3 ได้ และยังแก้ปัญหาการเล่นไฟล์ภาษาไทยแล้วเป็นภาษาต่างดาวได้ด้วย
ตัวโปรแกรม มี Interface ที่ใช้งานง่าย มีขนาดเล็กไม่เปลืองเนื้อที่ สนับสนุน ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, iTunes MP4, WMA, Vorbis Comments และ APE Tags.
